Put down roots. Grow your community. November is Endow Manitoba month, a good time to consider investing in the future of your hometown through a gift to your local community foundation. No matter the size of your donation, your contribution to a community foundation has impact and will improve life in your area for generations to come.
Community foundations: improve recreation facilities for children and families, expand health care options, preserve heritage buildings and landmarks, assist the disabled and disadvantaged, and make
communities more beautiful. Scholarship funds, held at many Manitoba foundations, help local students pursue their dreams for the future.
Community foundations are able to help in all these ways thanks to generous gifts from donors of all walks of life. These foundations pool and endow (permanently invest) all gifts and the income earned supports a variety of local projects. The original contributions are never spent, ensuring a lasting legacy for donors and ongoing resources for the community.
Manitobans are well-known for their generosity and community spirit. Our province is home to 57 community foundations – more than any other part of the country – and each supports its region through gifts from community members. It’s a tradition of philanthropy in which we can all participate
and take pride.
